Fefco style boxes

The cardboard boxes can be stacked to maximise your storage space and is the cheapest way to package most products. Cardboard boxes can be made in many different shapes and sizes.There is an international standard for describing cartons and boxes which has been promulgated by FEFCO - an international association of carton manufacturers. FEFCO is regarded as the international standard guide to cardboard box design.

FEFCO standard boxes include slotted type boxes, telescope type box, folder type boxes glued case, Interior fitments and trays etc. Those kind of carton boxes are widely used in packaging industry. For many packaging companies especially medium and small business, they used to product FEFCO standard box very often. The problem is how to design Fefco standard carton box in the most cost effective way to utmost the profit. Currently there are many useful carton box design software on the market which include FEFCO standard box inside, but the cost is very high and need high skilled people to operate,  mostly companies can not afford it. For those companies, there’re no other ways to do those FEFCO standard carton box design but pay high cost to other designer or design studio.

The most common shaped cardboard box is known as fefco code 0201. Flaps meet at the top and bottom and need sealing with packaging tape.

Fefco code 0200 is a cardboard box that is open at the top with flaps at the bottom that can be sealed with packing tape to provide a solid bottom for storage. This fefco style is often brought along with fefco code 0422 for use as a lid.
